Animal Cruelty: Factory Farming, Slaughterhouses + Animal Testing
Animals have spent their lives being at horrible farms where humans destroy their families. All of this is done just because people feel the need to eat meat, and get money. Think about it, people claim that they love animals and would do anything for them, yet are still eating meat constantly. If some were so inclined to save animals and really truly love them, then why in the world would they still be eating them? It doesn’t add up. Animals have to go through so much pain to get on someone's plate, but how can anyone eat that when it has been through torture? Billions of innocent animals are having to experience this and it is not okay!
Eighty percent of the pigs that are forced to be in factory farms get pneumonia. The gases that are produced there from manure, including very high levels of ammonia, give this disease to the poor pigs. When mother pigs are pregnant, they are kept in steel cages called sow stalls. The piglets are torn from their mothers at three weeks old. Pigs are among the most factory-farmed animals on the planet and a great deal of them have never even felt the natural earth under their feet.
Battery chickens are kept in cages and restricted to only about 67 square inches of space to move around, which is only about the size of a piece of paper. This means that they are not able to stretch their wings and are in these awful, small spaces most of their lives. Most of the egg-laying hens in the U.S are having to deal with being stuck in these cages. These poor chickens will suffer skin, heart, bone and lung problems, plus a ton of stress.

THE PROBLEM WITH ANIMAL TESTING
Every year in U.S labs, over 100 million animals are crippled, burned, and they suffer greatly. They need help, they need loving families with homes to go to and they have to be rescued. If these obviously unsafe products are tested on animals and people think that they have to do so, then why should they attempt to do so in the first place? You can tell if the products that you use are safe to animals by looking on your bottle of shampoo, makeup products, etc. to see if it was tested on animals. It might say something like "tested on our families and not animals," "cruelty free," "cruelty free and vegan," or "no animal testing." We strongly recommend checking with what products you buy. It would probably feel awful to find out that you buy products that were tested on animals.

FEDERAL LAWS ABOUT ANIMAL SLAUGHTER AND EATING ANIMALS
Yes, there is a federal law that was approved on August 27, 1958 in which the animal cannot feel a great deal of pain during the slaughter or will often be sedated before slaughtered. Of course, it is a positive that animals are being thought of to not be treated awfully when killed, but is this really the best solution? The answer is no. The best solution would, of course, be to simply not kill the poor animals just to get food or money. There is other food just as good or better than meat, and many restaurants have started to make food that is like meat but is not made from animals. This is because some good humans have come to the realization of the harm of eating animals because of the pain they must go through to serve us against their will. It is understandable that people need money to live, but animals need to live as well and there are many, many other ways to get money. Trying to not eat meat is never a bad thing, so we encourage anyone to try it out, it’s really not that difficult.
It is a well-known fact that many people in China eat dogs and cats. Now, many humans joke about this, but it really isn’t funny at all. Not only do they eat dogs, it is said that the more someone tortures a dog, the tastier it will be. So you will find a person literally ripping a dogs legs off or burning them before killing and eating them. This is unacceptable behavior and is very unsettling and frustrating. Around 10 million dogs and 4 million cats are slaughtered each year in China which is very upsetting and really not something to laugh about. There is actually a dog eating festival in China yearly that starts on June 21 and ends on June 30. Within this horrific festival, over 10,000 dogs get eaten. This is very upsetting, and many people say that they'd never eat dogs or cats but are okay with eating cows or pigs. Well, yes, this is understandable because dogs and cats are house pets and we have a tendency to care more about them than farm animals or wild animals. We have to consider the other animals' lives though. They all have the same right to live and therefore we should be trying to save all of them. We are very bothered and sad about the way animals are treated and would just like to try to help them with whatever we can and hope everyone can feel the same.

Animals Are Not an Experiment!Often, scientific labs will harm animals for no good reason. For example, they try out new soap and makeup, or even a new medicine, on innocent animals. More than 100 million animals are abused, crippled or poisoned in labs each year. The making of just one pesticide needs about 50 experiments and 12,000 animals! Countries like Israel and India have decided to ban animal testing for cosmetics. Now all we need is for our country to do the same, maybe even the whole world! Every bit of help we can get will make a small change. If people keep helping and protesting, maybe it will make everything different!

Puppy Mills, No More!We love dogs and I'm sure you do, too. Well, actually, if you work for or support puppy mills then you most likely don't. People that put dogs into cramped kennels that live in filthy conditions, have surroundings of a small, tight space with metal bars on each side of them obviously don't care for these sweet dogs! In all types of weather mom dogs sit in a patch of dirt. When she gives birth the owner takes the baby and sells it. These people are selling puppies from moms who have been tortured...just for money! Do you think that's fair? I sure hope not! Let's all think about what we can do to change it!
